Web Portal Development for Customers, Vendors and Teams
Secure self-service portals that let the people you work with find answers, upload documents and track requests without calling your office.
Overview
Why Portal Development matters
Your staff probably spend hours each week answering the same questions: where is my order, has my invoice been paid, which documents are still pending? Every call and email pulls someone away from higher-value work. Through web portal development, HANA Platform gives customers, vendors, employees and partners a secure place to help themselves. Each portal connects to your existing systems, shows every user only the records they are entitled to and sends timely notifications when something changes. The outcome is fewer routine calls, faster turnaround on requests and a more professional experience for everyone who deals with your business.
What we build
Portal Development: capabilities
Every feature is built on our standardized stack, so it is secure, tested and maintainable by any engineer in our pool.
Customer portals
Order status, invoices, statements, service requests and downloadable documents, available around the clock under each customer's own login.
Vendor and supplier portals
Suppliers acknowledge purchase orders, submit invoices, update delivery schedules and check payment status without chasing your accounts team.
Employee self-service portals
Payslips, leave requests, attendance, policy documents and internal announcements in one place, with manager approvals built in.
Partner and dealer portals
Distributors and channel partners register deals, download price lists and marketing material, and track commissions or incentives.
Student and learning portals
Admissions, fee payments, timetables, course material, results and parent communication for schools, colleges and training institutes.
Patient portals
Appointment booking, reports, prescriptions and secure messaging with clinics, designed with careful handling of personal health information.
Role-based access control
Fine-grained permissions decide who sees which records, down to the individual order, document or ticket, with access denied by default.
Document management
Upload, version and share files with type and size validation, pre-signed download links and storage kept separate from the app domain.
Notifications and alerts
Email, SMS, WhatsApp or in-app alerts when an order ships, a document is approved or a payment is received, sent reliably from background jobs.
Key benefits
Outcomes your business can count on
Fewer routine queries
When people can check status themselves, your team spends less time on repetitive calls and more on exceptions that need a human.
Faster document turnaround
Collecting KYC files, contracts or compliance certificates online removes email back-and-forth and makes missing items obvious.
Stronger relationships
A clean, branded portal signals professionalism and gives customers and partners confidence that their information is handled with care.
One login, many systems
The portal can surface data from your ERP, CRM and helpdesk behind one interface, so users never need to know which back-office tool holds what.
Use cases
Where this delivers value
Manufacturer vendor onboarding
New suppliers register, upload certificates and bank details, and move through an approval workflow before their first purchase order.
Financial services client portal
Clients view statements, sign documents and raise service requests through a portal with audit logging on every access.
Clinic network patient portal
Patients book appointments across branches and download lab reports, reducing front-desk calls during busy hours.
Technology used
Built on one proven stack
Portals are built with Next.js for fast, accessible pages and NestJS for the API, with PostgreSQL holding portal data, S3-compatible storage for documents and Redis with BullMQ handling notifications.
- Next.js App Router + Tailwind CSS
- NestJS with RBAC guards
- PostgreSQL + Prisma
- S3-compatible storage with pre-signed URLs
- Redis + BullMQ notification jobs
- Playwright tests on login and core journeys
Our process
From first call to confident launch
- 01
Discovery
We identify each user group, the questions they ask most often and the back-office systems that hold the answers, then rank portal features by impact.
- 02
Design
We define roles and record-level permissions, design onboarding and login flows, and prototype the home screen each user type sees first.
- 03
Agile Build
Sprints deliver authentication, core self-service features, integrations and notifications, with security tests on every endpoint that exposes data.
- 04
Production + 90-day hypercare
We invite users in stages, monitor sign-ups and support tickets, and keep a 90-day hypercare window to refine flows based on real feedback.
Security first in every web portal development project
A portal opens part of your business to people outside the building, so security cannot be an afterthought. Every request is validated on the server, every endpoint checks not only the user's role but whether they may see that specific record, and authentication endpoints are rate limited to slow down guessing attacks.
User files are scanned for type and size on upload and served through short-lived pre-signed links rather than from the portal domain. Sessions use httpOnly, Secure cookies, and we never write passwords or personal data into logs.
Connecting portals to the systems you already run
A portal is only as useful as the data behind it. We integrate with your ERP, CRM, accounting or hospital systems through APIs so customers see live order status and vendors see real payment dates. If those systems need work too, our ERP development and CRM development teams use the same stack.
For organizations that want answers as well as records, an AI knowledge base can sit inside the portal and respond to policy or product questions from your own documents.
Portals that work on any device
Many portal users arrive on a phone, so every screen is designed mobile first and tested on small displays. When users need push notifications or offline access, we can add a mobile app that uses the same versioned API as the web portal.
