Simbahan (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of Filipino Catholic parishioners and parish administrators who use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
What Data We Collect
We collect the following information when you register and use Simbahan: your name, email address, phone number, parish affiliation, and self-reported donation records. Parish administrators additionally provide their parish address, diocese, and GCash number for the donation feature.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the Simbahan service — to connect you with your parish, deliver announcements and daily readings, and enable the features you use. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Simbahan platform.
Data Isolation
Each parish on Simbahan has a completely isolated data environment. Your member list, donation records, and announcements are visible only to your parish administrators and approved members. No other parish can access your data.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting), but only under strict data processing agreements.
GCash Donations
GCash transactions happen directly between the member's GCash wallet and the parish GCash number. Simbahan does not process, store, or have access to any payment transaction data. Donation records in the app are self-reported by members.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Parish data is retained for 90 days after a parish account is deactivated, then permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@simbahan.app. We will respond within 14 business days.
